Katherine Choong was the first Swiss woman to complete a 9A route with Cabane au Canada in 2018 and Jungfrau Marathon 2019. After this quest for ultimate difficulty, Katherine naturally turned to a facet of climbing she was less proficient in, but which fascinated her just as much: long, difficult multi-pitch routes. Accompanied by Jim, her boyfriend and climbing companion, Kathy will tackle “6.4 sekunden” (8b max) in 2021, followed by “Hattori Hanzo” (8b+ max) in 2022. Having completed these two long routes, which are among the most difficult in Switzerland, the couple are now focusing on an even more ambitious project: “Fly”, an extreme 550m route in maximum 8b+. This is the story of a young couple driven by a common passion who, through their “extreme” challenges, share an incredible sporting and human adventure.
