David Asensio holds a degree in Communication Sciences and Techniques, specializing in Cinema, from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (1993), where he taught for 10 years. Together with Sebastián Vauneville and TuHuesca, he started the Huesca Film Office (HuFO), which brought to the province multiple shootings. He is currently a director of photography collaborating in numerous fiction, advertising and documentary projects; he runs his own production company, coordinates the production department of the UNED in Barbastro and is a member of the selection committee of the Huesca International Film Festival.

Since childhood Asensio has been linked to outdoor sports, he has practiced scuba diving, mountain biking, paragliding and, above all, climbing and mountaineering; a passion in which his father initiated him. When he was only 8 years old, he reached the 5,000-meter mark for the first time (in El Valle -Mexico-). Founder together with a group of friends of a climbing club, during his youth, his connection with Huesca (his grandmother was from Apiés -Huesca-) made him know some of the most iconic peaks of Alto Aragón such as Aneto, Monte Perdido, Tebarray, Balaitús, Cotiella or Collarada; but he is also a great lover of the Sierra de Guara where he frequently practices canyoning.
